Ideally, this color should fall into the energizing or relaxing category that you chose for yourself in step 1. If you decided in step 1 that you want to be energized at home, this should be one of the warm colors. If you decided that you want to relax at home, this should be a cool color. So I move a few shades in on the color swatch and find another great color. And are going for a complementary color scheme you'll want to choose a white with a touch of grey or blue in it. I personally like for bedrooms to each have their own personalities and paint colors that make sense for their vibes. They don’t have to be in the same proportion, however…sometimes some pink flowers in my blue living room are all the warmth that is needed to brighten up the whole space. That doesn’t mean your non-selected colors can’t appear anywhere in your house. If you didn’t choose yellow, but you find a painting you love with some yellow in it, by all means use it.
